Application trend of ultrasonic plastic welding machine

Ultrasonic welding can be applied to a wide variety of workpiece materials, almost all thermoplastic products. Ultrasonic plastic welding machine has the following unique advantages:

1. Ultrasonic plastic welding has become an indispensable processing method for plastic products. Ultrasonic welding does not require the use of any organic adhesive or screw, so it is safe and sanitary to operate.

Difficulty of the ultrasonic plastic welding machine is related to characteristics of the plastic itself. The so-called difficulty refers to the amount of energy required during welding. The amount of energy required can be customized according to the characteristics of the workpiece itself.

The greater the friction coefficient of plastics is, the worse the thermal conductivity is, the easier the interface is to form a molten state, and the better the ultrasonic weldability is. The harder the plastic is, the easier the ultrasonic welding is in plane welding due to small vibration transmission loss (large loss of soft materials). Of course, 40 khz ultrasonic welding machine can also be used for welding soft plastics, which is much better than 20 khz   15 khz ultrasonic welding machine.

Because the temperature range from solid to molten state of crystalline plastics is too narrow and very fast, its welding performance is worse than that of amorphous materials. The ultrasonic welding performance of soft plastic is easier than that of hard plastic in rivet welding and insert welding.


Ultrasonic welding properties of several common plastics:

ABS, HIPS, PMMA, MPPO: such rigid amorphous materials are very easy to conduct ultrasonic frequencies of 20khz   15khz, so they are particularly suitable for ultrasonic welding. Good results can be achieved regardless of long distance or short distance welding. Generally, energy conducting triangular bars are added on the welding surface of products.
